GUEST ROOM presents Time Stereo

ZOOM
Time Stereo is an international artists’ collective based in Detroit. The group’s permanent core comprises Davin Brainard and Warn Defever. Time Stereo’s activities are very diverse. Time Stereo began in 1993 as a music label, but now also sells animated films, hand-made clothing and art works via the website www.timestereo.com. Time Stereo’s members also perform in the bands Princess Dragonmom and His Name Is Alive. Their gigs occupy an area between art performances and concerts, varying from noise to jazz.
The short animated films with music by Time Stereo on the Guestroom monitor have everyday subjects such as a dandelion in the grass, a floating cloud or fairytale themes such as a menaced unicorn and gnomes that inhabit a gruesome underworld. The combination of these themes with figures made from felt, clay or bread dough result in a variety show with cabaret-like humour, with an atmosphere similar to that of Time Stereo’s performances.
